Have you seen the new TV ads that show why pets end up at animal shelters through no fault of their own? If not, visit The Shelter Pet Project website and check out these humorous PSAs for yourself! While you're there, you can browse the Pet Personals to find shelter pets available for adoption in your area.

The Shelter Pet Project is a joint effort by The Humane Society of the United States, Maddie's Fund, and the Ad Council, in partnership with the entire animal welfare community.

Can't Adopt? Then Sponsor!

Do you feel that way as you browse the pets we have listed? If you can't adopt but your heart goes out to one of our pets you can sponsor them as they wait for their own family. Visit our "Available Animals" page and follow the links to our Petfinder site. Once you're there, select your favorite pet and click "Sponsor Me" on their page.

You'll need to create a Petfinder account if you don't have one already, and then log in. Your contributions are collected and distributed to our shelter by the Petfinder Foundation. We are notified monthly of the sponsorships. Once your donation is received your name will go on your chosen pets' page(s) as their sponsor. Your contribution of just $10 may enable a pet's care until a new, loving family comes along. We can't thank you enough for your support!

2009 Turkey Raffle

The Humane Society is holding its 2009 annual Turkey Raffle on Saturday November 14, 7PM, at The Remedy Tavern in Kirkwood. Entertainment will include 50/50 Raffles, door prizes and music by Triple-T.

Come have a good time and support a great cause! The Remedy is located at 5 Milepoint Plaza, Kirkwood, NY. To donate a turkey or help sponsor the event please call 724-3709 for more information.

Trivia Night

The Humane Society and BARK Park are having a Trivia Night at Cyber Cafe West on Sunday November 15, from 6:00-8:00 PM. Cyber Cafe West is located at 176 Main Street in Binghamton. Special events will include at 50/50 Raffle and more!

Dog and Cat Food Donations

We have been trying to feed our dogs a consistent diet and it has really been helping with their overall health. If you are able to donate Pedigree Small Bites Adult Dog Food, your donations will be greatly appreciated. We chose Pedigree Small Bites because both large and small breeds are able to eat this size kibble. Any size bag would help.

We are also trying to feed our cats a consistent diet so if you are able to donate Purina Complete Formula Cat Chow (the blue bag), our cats would really appreciate it! Again any size bag would help. Thank you for your support and donations!
